Should I Use A Base Coat When I Paint My Nails?

Yes, it’s always a good idea to use a base coat when applying nail polish as it keeps your natural nails protected. Apply Attitude Base Coat, allow it to dry completely and the apply one or two coats of your favourite Attitude colour. Attitude base coat will act as a shield, helping to protect  your natural nail.

Can I Use GelTouch Top Coat Over My Attitude Polish?

Absolutely! Attitude goes perfectly with GelTouch! (It was, after all, the original nail polish tested with GelTouch and so was formulated to work with GelTouch). When used underneath GelTouch, Attitude should peel off much easier than the majority of nail polishes…And it won’t stain your nails!

How Many Coats Of Attitude Colour Should I Apply?

This one is entirely up to you, your tastes and preferences! Some like a lighter, more subtle look (if so, apply one thin coat of colour), while others prefer a deep, richer colour (if so, apply two or three thin coats of colour). Play around with the colours and number of coats you apply to find your favourite application style!

How Should I Remove My Attitude Manicure?

Attitude can be removed by using either a standard acetone-based or non-acetone based nail varnish remover.

FAQ-logo-Gelousy

Good Girls Don't Strip... Their Nails!

The Revolutionary 3-Step Gel Polish That Peels-Off the Nail, Without Causing Damage!

What Is The Difference Between Gelousy And Traditional Gel Polish Manicures?

Gelousy’s revolutionary Peel-Off technology means that you DO NOT need to soak your nails in acetone for 20 minutes or spend time scraping gel polish off of your nails (a process that results in thin, dry, stained and brittle nails). Instead, you simply peel off your Gelousy gel polish manicure when you are ready to remove to reveal undamaged, healthy nails! Gelousy’s protective, nail-friendly formula allows you to reapply your gel manicure as often as you want, without worrying about any tedious, damaging removal… Plus, no need for added products… very straight forwards!

Gelousy provides all the virtues of a gel manicure, without the sins!

Can I Use Gelousy Colours With Other Gel Polish Top & Base Coat Brands?

Absolutely not, Gelousy is designed to work as a system. Gelousy colours work with Gelousy Top&Base and will not function correctly if used in conjunction with other brands.

Will Gelousy Damage My Nails Like Traditional Gel Polishes?

Nope! Nail damage resulting from the use of traditional semi-permanent gel polishes is caused during the application and removal processes. Traditional gel polishes require excessive filling and buffing prior to application, followed by extensive soaking and scraping processes to remove. Soaking your nails for over 20 minutes in harsh, dehydrating chemicals (acetone) is bound to result in severe damage to your nails! So of that excessive soaking, scraping, buffing and filing you out your nails through is extremely damaging!

Gelousy does not require harsh processes! In fact, Gelousy does not require the use of any toxic chemicals or add-on products to aid its removal or prime the nail for application. It is completely safe and nail-friendly!

What Is Chip-Resistant Technology?

Gelousy’s flexible formulation uses integrated elasticised polymer technology. Unlike traditional gel polishes, Gelousy flexes and bends with the natural curves and contours of your nails. This enhanced elasticity helps Gelousy to remain chip-resistant for longer. You can therefore expect Gelousy to last up to 10 days on your nails. If one of your nails begins to lift, simply peel off the polish and repaint the nail.

Can I Use Gelousy On My Feet?

Absolutely! Toes should be pampered as often as fingers! Our lamps have been specifically designed to accommodate your feet as well as your hands! Treat your feet exactly as you would your hands, following precisely the same steps for a perfect Gelousy mani-pedi combo!

Do I Need To Prep My Nails Before Applying Gelousy?

Gelousy must be applied to clean, naked natural nails. We recommend that you clean your nails with a Gel Cleansing Finishing wipe (IPA impregnated pads can be found in Gelousy Starter Kit and sold separately) before application. If you have flexible and oily nails we recommend that you light buff the surface of your nails with a 220 grit buffer (provided in Gelousy Starter Kit). This will remove the shine from the nails and enhance the adhesion between Gelousy and your natural nails.

How Long Will Gelousy Last On My Nails?

Everyone’s nails are different, so everyone will have different results, however, if applied correctly, your Gelousy manicure can last for up to 2 weeks!

*Typical users should expect an average of up to 10 days wear (depending on your type of nails and how much you use them!)

Should I Apply Gelousy Thinkly Or Thinly?

Definitely thin! It is very important to apply thin layers of Gelousy. You are better off applying multiple thin coats, rather than one thick coat. If Gelousy is applied too thickly, it is more likely to catch and lift… So if your Gelousy manicure doesn’t seem to be lasting as long as you expected, it might be because you have applied it too thickly. Not a problem, just peel it off and try again (this time using thin coats!) Gelousy will last longer and look better! So, if in doubt, remember, “Thin is in”!

*Please watch our Gelousy How-To Video Tutorial if you are still unsure or having issues.

How Many Coats Of Gelousy Colour Should I Use?

We always recommended that you use two very thin coats of colour. The thinner the better! For deeper colouring, you can do 3 coats (entirely up to you!)

Gelousy Seems To Shrink Back On My Nails... What Should I Do?

Is Gelousy shrinking back on your nails leaving the free edges exposed? Ok, if that’s the case, you’ve probably forgotten to “cap the edges”. What does that mean? When painting your nails, you must “cap” each nail by painting horizontally along the exposed free edge of each nail. This will ensure that the tips are sealed and will help to prevent shrink back. For perfect results every time, make sure that you always complete this step!

What Should I Do If I Get Gelousy On My Skin Or Cuticles?

This is a biggie! It is very important for the longevity of your Gelousy manicure that you do not let any polish stray onto your cuticles or skin! If you paint over your cuticles or allow polish to seep onto the skin, Gelousy will likely lift and peel off your nails more quickly as the nail-to-gel bond will be broken. Make sure you use the hoof stick provided (in Gelousy Starter Kit) to remove any stray gel from around the nail bed (as seen in the Gelousy How-To Video), before curing under the LED lamp.

*Please watch our Gelousy How-To Video Tutorial if you are still unsure or having issues.

Help?!..My Gelousy Manicure Doesn't Seem To Be Curing Properly Under The LED Lamp...

This is probably due to an application error. You must make sure that your fingers are positioned directly underneath the LED lamp to ensure the optimal amount of light can reach each of your nails. If your fingers are at all twisted or unevenly placed under the lamp, Gelousy will not be able to cure correctly. Keep your hands straight and flat for best results. We recommend that you cure your 2 thumbs together, followed by your 4 fingers on each hand. Also, make sure you cure Gelousy Top Coat for 120 seconds as this extra minute allows the light to penetrate further so that the final coat can act as a shield over your shiny Gelousy manicure.

*Please watch our Gelousy How-To Video Tutorial if you are still unsure or having issues.

My Nails Are Still Sticky After Curing Under The LED Lamp....Why?

Not to worry, you have probably omitted the last step of the process…Wiping off the sticky residue!

All gel polishes leave behind a tacky residue on the surface of the nails after curing under the LED lamp. This does not mean that gel polish is not fully cured. The product will be fully cured (as long as the instructions have been followed correctly), however, you will still need to remove the sticky residue. Simple wipe off the tacky layer from each of the nails using one of the Gel Cleansing wipes (provided in the Gelousy Starter Kit or sold separately) and voila! Perfect Gelousy manicure!

I Have My Own LED or UV Lamp... Can I Use It With Gelousy?

Yes, Gelousy cures under both LED and UV lamps… but it will take longer under a UV lamp and some LED lamps. Instructions for use are based on the application of Gelousy with our powerful 9W LED Arch Lamp (provided in Gelousy Starter Kit).

  • For use with an alternative LED lamp, you must check the power output of your LED lamp and modify the curing time accordingly (i.e if your LED lamp is under 9W, you must increase the curing time).
  • For use with a UV lamp, you should use at least double the recommended curing time per coat to be on the safe side.

How Do I Remove My Gelousy Gel Manicure?

Just use the hoof stick (provided in the Gelousy Starter Kit) to gently free the product from the corner of your nail. Then, use the hoof stick to continue to lift the free edge, gently peeling back the remainder of the colour from the nail in one even, smooth stroke. It peels off like a dream!

However, Gelousy is designed to strengthen and become harder over time, so the longer it is on your nails, the more difficult it might be to remove. If you are having any difficulty peeling Gelousy, simply soak your nails in acetone (for no longer than 1 minute!) to help loosen the bond and it should peel off easily. For additional removal and application instruction see our Gelousy Step-by-Step and How To Video below.

ANY POLISH! ANY BRAND! ANY TIME! ANYWHERE!

The TopCoat That Transforms Any Polish Into A Gel!

Can I Use Speed Drying Sprays/Drops To Help My Polish Dry Quicker Before Applying GelTouch?

GelTouch needs to be applied to clean and non-oily nails. Products like speed drying sprays and drops leave oily deposits on your nails, making them greasy. So, if you do decide to use any speed drying products, make sure to clean the surface of your nails, wiping away any remaining oil from the nail polish. We recommend that you use a Gel Cleansing finishing wipe (IPA alcohol impregnated wipe found in GelTouch Starter Kit or sold separately) to cleanse the nail plate before applying GelTouch.

How Long Do I Need To Wait To Ensure My Polish Is Dry Enough To Apply GelTouch?

It depends on how many layers of polish you have applied and how thickly you have applied it. In general, we recommend waiting an average of roughly 20-30 minutes to ensure that the polish is completely dry, but use your discretion to determine the precise length of time.

Can I Use GelTouch Over Any Type Of Nail Polish?

Yes, you can use GelTouch on any brand, colour or type of nail polish…as long as it is completely dry!

What Will Happen If I Apply GelTouch Before My Polish Is Completely Dry?

If you happen to apply GelTouch to nail polish that is at all wet, your GelTouch will seem wrinkly and bubbly. This is because all nail polishes are solvent based and dry as the solvents evaporate. If you apply GelTouch before your nail polish is completely dry, bubbles will appear under the surface where the evaporating solvents have become trapped. This will not only make GelTouch look bad, but it will also prevent it from working correctly. GelTouch will not be able to adhere to the nail properly, will slip on your nails and therefore won’t last. Not to worry though, just redo your manicure and be patient… We promise, the results are worth the wait!

Can I Use GelTouch On Natural Nails, Without Nail Varnish?

Yes, you can use GelTouch can absolutely be used on unpainted, natural nails.

I Have My Own LED or UV Lamp... Can I Use It With GelTouch?

Yes, GelTouch cures under both LED and UV lamps… but it will take longer under a UV lamp and some LED lamps. Instructions for use are based on the application of GelTouch with our powerful 9W LED Arch Lamp (provided in GelTouch Starter Kit).

Should I Apply GelTouch Thinkly Or Thinly?

Definitely thin! It is very important to apply thin layers of GelTouch. You are better off applying two thin coats, rather than one thick coat. If GelTouch is applied too thickly, it is more likely to catch and lift… So, if your GelTouch manicure doesn’t seem to be lasting as long as you expected, it might be because you have applied it too thickly. Not a problem, just peel it off and try again (this time using thin coats!) GelTouch will last longer and look better!

If in doubt, remember, “Thin is in”!

*Please watch our GelTouch How-To Video Tutorial if you are still unsure or having issues.

Should I Apply 1 or 2 Coats of GelTouch?

This one is completely up to you! Everyone has different tastes and preferences so it depends entirely on what kind of look and feel you’re trying to achieve.

  • For a thicker gel-like consistency, we recommend applying 2 coats of GelTouch (no need to use the cleansing wipe in between the 2 coats though- just reapply your 2nd coat of GelTouch on top of your 1st coat, cure for another 60 seconds…and then wipe!).
  • For a thinner, glossy finish (to give a look more like nail polish), we recommend applying only 1 coat of GelTouch. However, 2 very thin coats of GelTouch will give the same slimline slick look, whilst also helping to increase the longevity of your manicure.

This is probably due to an application error. You must make sure that your fingers are positioned directly underneath the LED lamp to ensure the optimal amount of light can reach each of your nails. If your fingers are at all twisted or unevenly placed under the lamp, GelTouch will not be able to cure correctly. Keep your hands straight and flat for best results. We recommend that you cure your 2 thumbs together, followed by your 4 fingers on each hand.

Also, if you have applied very thick layer of GelTouch, it might have a little more difficulty curing. Not to worry, just cure your final coat of GelTouch for an additonal 30-60 seconds to allow the light to penetrate further.

*Please watch our GelTouch How-To Video Tutorial if you are still unsure or having issues.

GelTouch Is Not Peeling Off My Nails. How Do I Get It Off?

GelTouch IS formulated to peel off…However, nails come in different shapes, sizes and types so depending on your nail-type, you might have a bit more difficulty peeling off GelTouch. GelTouch might also be harder to peel off of some brands of nail polish. Not to worry though! If you are having difficulty, quickly soak (for no longer than 1 minute) your nails in any standard acetone-based nail polish remover to help loosen the bond. Your GelTouch should now come off easily, without damaging your nails!

*GelTouch might be more difficult to peel off in less than 10% of cases

How Do I Apply Illusion Eyelashes?

  1. Lash Prep: Apply your Glam Republic Illusion Eyelashes when your makeup is complete. It can help to use a lash comb to separate your natural lashes prior to application.
  2. Lash Check: Carefully remove your Illusion Eyelashes from the tray and check the length against your eye. Lashes should start a quarter from the inside corner of your eye and end no longer than the outside corner. If its too long, trim one or two (or half) millimetres at a time from the outside edge until you’ve got the perfect fit!
  3. Lash Adhesive: Apply a line of lash adhesive to the lash band and wait at least 30 seconds until the adhesive is tacky. The adhesive will dry clear and will not irritate your eyes but keep it away from the ye itself.
  4. Lash Application:  Look down onto a mirror. Hold the lashes from the centre, and fix as closely as possible to the natural lash line, central to your lashes. Then, push the two ends of the lashes as close to the natural lash line. Pinch the false lashes to you own for a tight grip.

  1. Clean: Make sure to clean the area of skin you wish to apply the appliqué to before use.
  2. Peel: Peel the body jewel from the backing and apply to desired area of the body. It is helpful to squeeze the appliqué, applying pressure to the skin to aid adhesion. (The glue backing is heat and pressure sensitive so rubbing the appliqué whist on the skin will promote adhesion).
  3. Remove & Secure: Peel the body jewel off of the skin after use and either replace it onto its original backing or safe storage, or stick the appliqué to a clean mirror. This will protect the adhesive backing until you are ready to wear again!

What Does Cruelty-Free Mean?
